Germack Pistachios and Cashews make the difference.
History of the Pistachio: The Pistachio Nut was originally grown in Iran. The growing area spread into the Mediterranean, where it has long since been a valuable crop. The pistachio was known to have been eaten by the Romans. In medieval times it became more available in the entire Mediterranean and near east. In more recent times, the pistachio has been cultivated in the English speaking world. The nut is grown in Australia, and in the US. Here in the States, they are grown in New Mexico and particularly in California. The United States Department of Agriculture introduced the tree to California in about 1904. It became a viable commercial crop in California around 1929. Each pistachio tree averages around 50 kg of nuts (that is around 50,000 nuts!). |
